From the beginning, God’s blessing and provision has overseen Friends of Christ Church. His hand has been apparent in every detail. The history of its founding is a beautiful testament to faith, community, and God's faithfulness. Born in 2001 amidst the mass immigration of Slavic people, the church was clearly established with a divine purpose. The name "Friends of Christ" reflects a deep relational connection with Jesus, emphasizing fellowship and commitment to His mission. To this day, it is our hope that everyone who passes through personally encounters the love of the Lord.  

In an act of faith, the elders of Eben Ezer Church gave their blessing and aid in purchasing the building on San Rafael Street in Portland, Oregon. This crucial milestone allowed the growing congregation to gather, worship, and serve. Overcoming numerous obstacles and persevering through life’s ebbs and flows, the church has continued to grow and prosper. God unceasingly reminds us that His plans for His people are good. As we celebrated the church’s 20th anniversary in 2021, we reverently reflected upon the faithfulness of the members and God’s continued blessings. 

The church’s main focus has always been fulfilling God's will and working for His glory. This commitment to God's mission, along with the desire to be a beacon of hope and light in Portland, motivates us to continue fighting the good fight. The Lord's faithfulness has undoubtedly been evident for over 20 years. We pray that God continues leading Friends of Christ Church in carrying out His purpose. With grateful and expectant hearts, we press on! It is a great honor to be a part of God’s story for this nation and this world.
